Summer Bucket List

Posted by Heather on August 23rd, 2009

Ahhhh, it’s almost here - the end of summer.  I can’t complain too much about this summer but I am NOT a hot weather person.  I get irritated when people complain about how short the summer is.  To those people, I say this:  We are in Cleveland, not Cancun.  If you want hot, I’m sure Alabama would appreciate your real estate dollars.

Anyway, the smell of a pallet of No. 2 pencils is wafting through Target as we speak, marking the end of  yet another summer.  Bring on the sweaters, orange leaves and fires I say!  But before all that, you should take advantage of this summer with your spouse.  I hate to be morbid, but you never know if this will be your last.  Here’s a list of things you should try to do with your spouse before it’s time to break out the boots (yay!!)

1.  Watch the sunset on a beach.  Hooray if you are lucky enough to live by an ocean, but there’s bound to be a lake close to just about everyone.

2.  Play an outdoor game.  Jarts!  Horseshoes! Ladder Golf!  Or my personal fave - Cornhole!

3.  Grill out together.  Hey ladies, don’t watch from the kitchen.  Grab a beer and hang out by the grill with the Master of the Flame.

4. Stop the ice cream man and eat it on the front porch together.  ‘Nuff said.

5.  Go to a festival.  Enjoy the sounds of a bad Journey cover band and a ferris wheel ride together.  Nothing says summer like the smell of an unbathed carnie!

Enjoy what’s left of summer!
