Date Night - Cooking at Home, Part 1

Posted by Heather on May 31st, 2009

Scallops You see those scallops? You know who cooked those scallops?  Me, baby, me.  Ok, I should say WE, not me.  Cooking dinner together at home is a great way to spend the evening.  The meals don’t have to be fancy, but planning and cooking dinner together is a great everyday activity you can do together that also relieves stress.

Are you a couple that doesn’t cook at home and need more compelling reason to do so?  How about money?  Couples can easily spend thousands of dollars a years eating out or getting takeout.  For a fraction of that cost, you could spend time doing something at home and have more cash in your pockets.

Another reason? Your health.  You don’t know what you’re putting in your body.  If you and your spouse sit down together perusing recipes in cookbooks or the internet, you can come up with healthy alternatives to restaurant favorites.  After all, you want to STAY spouses for many years to come!

Do you non-cooks out there need some ideas?  Here are some great recipes sites to start out with!

Such an important thing you are doing for your marriage, with date night. One of the “secrets” of successful marriages is the fact that you make time to spend time together and it doesn’t have to be glamorous. Great stuff.
