It’s that time of year.  The holidays are here and what’s supposed to be a fun, family filled time can often turn into stress filled suck fest, in my opinion.  Between shopping, cooking, traveling, wrapping in between regular life it’s important to keep you cool and while trying to keep your life together.  This, of course, extends to your marriage.

Women tend to want to do it all this time of year and what happens? We wind up drinking a cheap pinot while crying and wrapping gifts on Christmas eve, worrying that 3 pies is NOT enough for 7 people.  Yes, ladies, we are crazy.

Here’s where men come in.  Men are built to fix things.  We are built take on too much on.  Let’s leverage these two strengths to actually make this a holiday we WANT to remember and not drown in bad booze and baked goods.

My husband and I make the menu for holiday feasts together and split up the gift giving responsibilities.  Plus we set a budget for each person so we know we don’t freak out at the end of December.  It’s another way to make the holiday less painful.  Now I just need to figure out a way to survive my mother’s nagging for grandchildren.  There’s still a reason for cheap pinot.
