Make More Time Together and Save Money
In this current economic climate, we’re all looking for ways to save a little cash. One of the easiest ways is to eat at home more rather than getting takeout. I know what you’re thinking - “I don’t have time to cook more.” You might have to work a lot of hours outside the home or have a couple kids to look after, but there is a way that you can have more time, cook at home and spend time with your spouse. Let me reintroduce you to an old friend - the crockpot.
Since I’ve gone back to work full time, the crockpot has been getting quite a workout at my house. Now, I LOVE to cook and I know the the crockpot isn’t what I would call gourmet, but I’ve found some great recipes and adapted a few favorites.
The great dinner debate happens in every home on busy weekday evenings and why not cut down on your stress levels and think ahead for the week. Spend a few hours together on Sunday afternoon cutting up your veggies, meat and putting together the seasonings or sauces for a crockpot meal. Pick out a recipe or two together (something the kids might want to get involved with too) and work together in the kitchen. Throw everything in the crockpot in the morning and you have food for the better part of the week.
Voila! You have just spent time together getting dinner prepared and you’ve saved so much time on workday evenings that can be put to better use. Money and time caused a lot of arguments in marriage, so this is one way to lessen the strain on both.
With that, I will get you started on your new crockpot cooking adventure with this FANTASTIC recipe for Slow Cooker Rosemary and Red Pepper Chicken. I used white wine instead of vermouth, used fresh herbs instead of dried, added some red pepper flakes for heat, served it over pasta and sprinkled some Parmesan cheese over top.

Working through a couple’s relationship issues can also help solve their financial problems, When you fix the root cause, the subsequent problems like money improve as well. I advice couples who are going through such stage to seek for marriage advice. I have ebcountered such problems in my marriage too, and marriage advice has helped me and my husband fix our common money issues.
My husband and I think conversely when it comes to money. As a child, I remembered saving every penny I found and overtime, grew into a large sum – enough to purchase my first car during my high school days. My husband, on the other hand, was never taught the money management skills necessary to live a practical adult life. If he wants something, he goes out and buys it. However, we’ve made it work by discussing our problems. We frequently disagree, but every married person can agree that marriage is all about compromise. And we work hard to compromise when it comes to our budget. My marriage advice to any newlywed would be to speak openly with your spouse about everything, especially when it comes to money. Communication is the biggest key to a happy marriage. Seek help from marriage counselors if you need help with your communication skills. And if for any reason you need help covering any unexpected expense, don’t resort to an overdrawn bank account or addition fees. Payday installment loans have helped my marriage on different occasions, and more people should use these types of loans when they’re in a temporary financial binds.
