David Blaine the Eternal Bachelor
I just read that David Blaine is going to be hanging upside down in Central Park for 60 hours. Blaine, whom I’m not sure how to categorize career-wise, has spent 3 days in a block of ice, 44 days in a clear cage without food and lived for an entire week in a tank filled with water. That man does crazy things for no apparent reason. I suppose I could categorize him an Insane Bachelor.
His most recent stunt will push his body to the limit. It seems that the human body does not take kindly to being inverted. Blaine faces the possibility of organ failure (which has already happened twice) AND blindness. Smart idea there, Einstein.
I hypothesize that Blaine will remain a bachelor for a good long time. Unless, of course, there is a stray Victoria Secret model that needs to move herself from the flannel pajama section to the Second Skin Satin collection. Then he might be able to find a “bride”. Most wives cringe when their husbands go mountain biking or mountain climbing, but can you imagine if your husband was hanging upside down for nearly 3 days??
I am protective of my husband – I hate to see him climb on a roof or playing with electricity, but I think I would probably die from stress if he did the crazy stuff that Blaine does.
What do you think? Are you ok with your spouse being reckless with his/her health?

GOOD questions. NO, I am not okay with my husband being wreckless about his health. Fortunately, he likes to exercise. But he also has a huge sweet tooth and thinks it’s fine to eat red meat every day.
His weight is fine. But I worry a lot about his blood pressure…I guess this is the difference between marriage and parenthood–I can’t make him avoid the foods I feel are bad for him!
