My hub is in the military, so he's away from home at least once a month for a few days. I look at it like a mini vacation because I get to do everything the way I want to do it and watch all my favorite shows. I also like to take that time to be lazy and not clean until the day before he comes home.

As for part two, this story has been circulating the milblogosphere for the past couple of weeks. It's absolutely horrendous (sp?) that a city would take the stance that Berkley is taking and the "Pinkos", in my opinion, are the worst form of American citizens and if we ever meet they can kiss my military bum for my hub putting his life on the line for their freedom. Anyway...last night there was another city meeting and now Berkley is saying they don't support the war, but they do support the troops. However, I don't think they'll be issuing an apology, so they're still not worth the sand on all soldiers' boots.

My husband and I own a business, so we work together as well as spend most of our spare time together. A couple times a year he goes out of town on business for a couple days, and you're right - it throws everything off when you're so used to having him around. I'll admit I always plan to do some things I don't normally do when he's gone, just as you mentioned, but the thrill soon wears off and I just plain miss having him around. Even the dogs and cats aren't quite themselves when he's gone.
