Merry Christmas!

Posted by Heather on December 24th, 2007

Merry Christmas, Dear Readers! On this day, I hope everyone takes time between copious amounts of food, drink and the consumerism to remember why YOU celebrate this day. This may or may not have anything to do with religion.

Maybe you view this day as a day for family to come together and forget their issues for a while. Just share a meal and worry about strife another day. Remember why you love the people you’re with. Forget why they bother you, forget what you would change and simply enjoy the day.

Maybe this is a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Remembering that day, rejoicing in the life of Jesus Christ.

Maybe it’s a day to forget about your problems. Let the spirit of the season swallow you up for a day. Eat, drink and be merry. Be glad you got to see another holiday – another day!

Maybe this is a day to look at your life and be thankful for what you have. When you open that gift you don’t need or don’t want, think about the person who gave it to you. Know their intentions were good and be thankful they remembered you on this day.

Some marital advice to wives:

Don’t instruct your husband on how to carve the turkey. He’s a big boy, he’s doing just fine.

Take a minute to nuzzle his neck.

Spend more than a minute under the mistletoe.

You can be naughty – Santa won’t mind!

Advice for husbands:

Clean up the wrapping paper after the opening of the presents. You have no idea how many points that will get you!

If your wife cooked, make a big deal about all the work that went into it.

Don’t leave the mistletoe in the living room at bedtime. Take that bad boy into the bedroom.
