Mind Your Manners

Posted by Heather on December 13th, 2007

In the shower this morning I squinted to see a brand new Noxzema sitting there. When I opened it, I expected to see the virgin scoop off the top. Ooh how I love the first dig into a Noxzema jar. LOVE IT. Anyway, it wasn’t. It was completely pristine and perfect. My darling husband had used the rest of the other jar and replaced it. I’ll be honest, there’s no way that if I got up at 6:30 in the morning would I remember to put the new one in the shower. And I was thankful so I sent him a quick email thanking him for replacing it.

Saying thank you to your spouse is something we might take for granted. When someone at work helps you out, you say thanks. If you drop something in a parking lot and someone picks it up for you, you thank them. But when your spouse does something nice for you, big or small , do you always thank them? I think it’s a nicety that leaves the marriage fairly quickly. I’m going to make an honest effort to keep tabs on my thank you’s to my husband. Try it yourself and make sure you’re not forgetting what your Mama taught you.
