Hard Habit to Break
Does anyone remember that old Chicago song? I looked it up to see what year it was out. 1984. I was eight at the time and even then I had bad habits. Specifically biting my nails. Still do. Probably always will. Plus I have the extra added luxury of having super strong teeth and my nails are no match for the ol’ chompers.
I have other bad habits too, that I do not see as bad habits. Like, I never push the kitchen sprayer all the way down in the holder. And I put dirty dishes in the sink. Neither of which seem like bad habits to me, but to my husband they are. To him, if something fits in a hole - put it in. Get your mind out of the gutter people! I’m talking about the kitchen sprayer…geesh. Oh wait, you weren’t thinking about THAT? And HE likes to put the dishes on the counter so the sink is free for washing them. I consider that bad habit. I hate having the counter top looking like an episode of Cops should come busting in at any moment.
He’s also a nail biter. I KNOW! The whole pot/kettle thing, but let me explain. His teeth make this NOISE when he’s biting them. It’s a weird little squeaky, clicky sound that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on edge. And he paces when he’s on the phone, but we have resolution to that. He goes into another room and shuts the door or goes outside. He can pace to his hearts’ content and I don’t have to feel all nervous.
So how about your spouse or SO? Bad habits that drive you nuts or do you simply grin and bare it? Any BIZARRE habits? I love the bizarre.
